October 5-10, 2013. Beaver trapping and Aux Aliments du Pays in the Uinta Mountains of Utah. Oliver McCloskey and Bradley C Bailey headed into the mountains on a fall hunt to live off the land and catch some beaver. The area was a mountaineer paradise. There were very few wild edibles at this time of year, and during the 5 days we lived off the meat from one beaver and a few other small critters. We couldn't seem to get a shot at the pine hens or snowshoe hares we saw, and fishing was poor. This is what the life of a mountaineer was all about.
