Rocky Mountain Outfit — American Mountain Men (AMM) party of Colorado
On May 5-7, Gabe Hanratty set out to do a solo camp as part of his AMM requirements. He and his dogs went to a place called Castle Rock Gulch and packed in a little less than 1/2 mile before setting up camp. Saturday was beautiful with a nearly full moon. Supper was some elk steaks cooked over the fire. Sunday clouded up and was windy. After making a change to his canvas, he and his dogs settled in. Monday morning they awoke to an inch of snow on the ground.
