Camp was called by Bill Gantic to go to the AMM Land at Gibbler Gulch the weekend of October 15-17. The mission was to place the medicine bags of seven of the Florida brigade Brothers that have gone under, on the property. Brad Bailey, Bill Gantic, and Bill's black Lab, Molly attended this camp. It was prime Colorado autumn weather for the two mile walk in with our gear on our backs. Fresh elk tracks lead us into the land. Camp was set on the edge of the large meadow under the same pinion pine we used a few years back. A scout was made up into one of the canyons that feed into the meadow. Tall red canyon walls, dark timber and clear fresh creek was to be found there. Rose hips were harvested for tea. Bill fashioned a new pipe stem out of a branch of the wild rose, with just the use of his knife and some iron wire. On Sunday morning before breaking camp, sweet grass was burnt and the medicine bags were hung with honor by Bill and Brad. They were placed in the same large pinion pine along with Griz's bag (AMM #1). A short prayer was said then we took up our rifles and fired two volleys in honor of our Brothers. Camp was packed up and we headed out.
